Dave Limburg is the head Landscape Architect at Online Garden Design. He has been designing and building gardens for over 15 years.
Dave has a strong passion for creating unique landscape gardens, with a strong sense of place, appropriate for the surrounding house and environment. He loves the challenge of creating a unique landscape for each client that is a perfect match for their lifestyle and tastes.
Dave studied a Horticulture certificate III and Horticulture Diploma in Landscaping at Meadowbank/Ryde Tafe NSW. He also studied at the Australian Correspondence school, completing a certificate in Landscape Design. Along with formal studies, Dave has an extensive library of landscaping books – hand selecting ideas and concepts to use in future gardens. He also loves exploring the gardens of others – colleagues, renowned garden designers as well as home garden enthusiasts. Dave also loves traveling and picking up landscaping ideas from different countries and cultures around the world. He has a vast collection of photos from his travels just waiting for the right garden to implement these fresh landscaping ideas.
Dave has a strong passion for the Japanese aesthetic. Working for a Japanese Garden/Landscape company for several years helped to cement his love of the Japanese design principles. He has traveled around Japan on garden tours experiencing the original oriental gardens from his beloved books. Dave Limburg’s signature garden designs use Japanese design principles fused with modern, contemporary garden designs and materials. However he is just as comfortable designing formal gardens, English gardens or permaculture edible landscapes. If fact, he thrives on creating the perfect garden to match the client, rather than pushing his own ideas.
